When Catherine Giordano was asked in 2001 to help locate a
buyer for a small computer company, she did not have to look
very far before she found the perfect contender – herself.
Guided by the principles of hard work and ethical
business dealings, coupled with her unique insight into all
aspects of commercial operations, Mrs. Giordano knew she was
capable of transforming this latent company into a credible
business. As President and Chief Executive Officer,
Catherine Giordano has relentlessly led Knowledge
Information Solutions, Inc (KIS ) to achieve unprecedented
growth. KIS is now a
successful SBA 8(a) Certified, minority woman-owned business offering information
technology products, security and managed services to
government and commercial customers.
Since the acquisition, KIS’s annual revenues have
dramatically increased from $9M to over $40 M in 2007.
Throughout her career in both private industry and public
service,
Catherine Giordano has been responsible for all aspects of
administration and operation of government and
commercial/private business ventures. Her dedication to
public service and her efforts to further minority-owned
businesses in their ability to fairly compete and win
government contracts have gained her national recognition,
invited speaking engagements, and a number of significant
awards.
Catherine
Giordano is a founding partner of Women Impacting Public
Policy (WIPP). She serves on the WIPP Executive Advisory
Board, Procurement Committee and Strategic Design Team, WIPP
Instant Impact Advocacy Committee, and Technology Transfer
Committee. She also serves on the James Madison University
Member-College of Integrated Science and Technology's
Executive Advisory Council.
Catherine Giordano routinely meets with government policy
makers,
administrative and Congressional leaders to address proposed
legislation and regulations by advocating for small business
issues. Personally
invited by President George W. Bush, she participated
in the “Conversation on the Economy with Women Small
Business Owners and President Bush”
Forum. Mrs. Giordano
has served on a number of panels and boards as the result of
appointments by former Virginia Governors George Allen and
Mark Warner.
Some might argue KIS’s extraordinary growth is the ideal
measure of success.
If you ask Catherine Giordano about measuring success, she
will tell you true success is measured by each satisfied
client and by every enthusiastic employee who contributes to
high quality products and services.
Under her leadership, KIS will never settle for the
ordinary, and the company will always be relentlessly ahead
of the pack when it comes to innovative technology and
superior services.
Not only is Catherine Giordano an acclaimed leader, speaker,
and champion for small business, she is indeed an
exceptional entrepreneur.
